WHAT WE BELIEVE

We Believe in the Transforming
Power of Jesus Christ

Our doctrine is based on the full counsel of God’s Word, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and centered on the Lordship of Jesus. Below is a detailed look at our foundational beliefs.

A Firm Foundation in Scripture

At l’Église Maison De Refuge Multiculturelle Inc., our beliefs are not based on trends or tradition—they are rooted in the inspired and unchanging Word of God. These core doctrines guide everything we do, from worship to outreach to discipleship. Each of these truths is taught in our congregation, baptism classes, and across our ministry network.

Our Beliefs

THE WORD OF GOD

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God—true, timeless, and trustworthy. It reveals God’s plan for humanity and is supported by both spiritual revelation and historical discovery (e.g., Dead Sea Scrolls, Noah’s Ark, etc.).

Scripture References: 2 Peter 1:21, 2 Timothy 3:16-17

We believe in one eternal God existing in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit—equal in power and glory.

Scripture References: Matthew 28:19–20, 2 Corinthians 13:14

We believe salvation is only through Jesus, God’s only begotten Son. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, and rose again for our redemption.

Scripture References: Acts 28:28, Hebrews 9:22, 1 John 5:20

The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin and empowers us to live righteously. Sanctification is the process of being set apart for God, made holy through His Spirit and the blood of Christ.

Scripture References: John 14:16–17, Hebrews 13:12

  • Water Baptism
  • Holy Communion (The Lord’s Supper)
  • Feet Washing

We observe all three as commanded by Christ.

Scripture References: Mark 16:15–16, John 13:4–5,
1 Corinthians 11:23–25

We believe in the necessity of repentance, justification by faith, and regeneration through the Holy Spirit. These are foundational to being born again and living a Spirit-led life.

Scripture References: Acts 2:38, Romans 5:1, Titus 3:5

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an empowerment for ministry, often evidenced by speaking in tongues. Spiritual gifts operate within the church for the edification of the Body.

Scripture References: Joel 2:28, Acts 1:4–8, 1 Corinthians 12:1–10

We believe a Spirit-filled life should bear fruit—love, joy, peace, and more. Holiness is not optional; it is God’s standard for His people.

Scripture References: Galatians 5:22–23, 1 Peter 1:15

We believe the power of the Cross includes physical healing and deliverance, available to all who believe.

Scripture References: Isaiah 53:4–5, James 5:14–16

We teach biblical stewardship, not legalism—giving should be free, generous, and Spirit-led. Restitution is also encouraged when possible.

Scripture References: Luke 6:38, Matthew 23:23, Luke 19:8–9

We believe in the rapture, the resurrection of the dead, eternal life for believers, and eternal judgment for the unrepentant.

Scripture References: 1 Thessalonians 4:15–17, Revelation 20:10–15

We believe in a lifestyle that honors God: avoiding intoxicants, narcotics, excessive ornamentation, secret oaths, and unequal yoking in marriage.

Scripture References: 1 Corinthians 6:19, 2 Corinthians 6:14–17, 1 Peter 3:3–4

Standing Firm on the Word of God

We understand that some doctrines may be debated by others or added to over time, but these truths are our foundation. As John 20:31 reminds us:

“But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God…”
